Enslaved & Enslaver; Finding Descendent Connections
Speaker: Judy Hughes
In 1982, Judy Hughes made a promise to herself that somehow, someway she would find descendants of people her family held in chattel slavery to share recently discovered information.
You’ll learn about the discovery, the promise, and how she went about the search. She will also share some of what she‘s learned, why these lessons are important, and what role DNA played in locating unknown descendants of the enslaved and the enslavers.
