Norwegian Genealogy Research

Speaker: Sarah Stumme

In 1825, mass emigration from Norway began and resulted in 900,000 Norwegians relocating to the United States. In this webinar, we will navigate the major genealogical resources for Norwegian and Norwegian American genealogical research, share tips and tricks, and some current resources to further develop our Norwegian family history sleuthing skills including:

  • Norwegian naming patterns
  • Norwegian Digital Archives
  • Norwegian Farm Books
  • Norwegian American research centers and societies
  • Online Resources in Norway and US
  • General outline for tracing a Norwegian ancestor from US to Norway

As time permits: opportunity to share resources, queries, and successes in Norwegian family research.

This program is co-sponsored with the Glenview Public Library.
